Hydroseeding: Superhero Seeder

Hydroseeding is a one step application where seed and any combination of fertilizer, lime, biostimulants, moisture retention polymers, tackifiers, mulch, and other additives are combined with water to form a slurry that is sprayed onto the ground to establish vegetation and control erosion.

The hydroseeding ingredients are mixed in a truck or trailer mounted tank that mixes the contents to create a homogenous slurry that is then sprayed over the prepared ground. 

Hydroseeding has grown in popularity in the landscaping, construction and erosion control industries.  The popularity has grown as professionals in these industries recognize hydroseeding for its effectiveness, speed, and efficiency.

The key to effective hydroseeding is the mulch that acts as the growth medium for the seed.  When the right mulch is applied at appropriate rates, the mulch provides moister retention for faster germination, insulation from temperature extremes to prevent seed dormancy, and protection from erosion.  Unlike straw or hay used on traditional seeding jobs, Hydroseeding mulch does not contain any weed seed.
